 How We Met the Challenge
We began with a search of stock photo agencies. The result was the wire-frame face with binary code background, suggesting the site's subliminal programming theme. We extended the color scheme and feel of that image into the look and feel of the site, substituting the cartoon are that had illustrated each tape and CD with hard hitting photos reflecting each program's theme.
What looked like text in the left navigation was rendered in the site's graphics. Now the first rule of SEO is search engine spiders can't "read" images. So we converted the page links to text and switched the text in the images to real text. We focused on adding additional traffic as well as Page Rank with a reciprocal links page. We did lots more, but we don't want to give away too many trade secrets here.

The Challenge
Convert the Yahoo cookie-cutter store above (Before) to a top-seller professional look like you see to the left (After).
Our first hurdle was to find a look for the site. The original site had a logo, but it didn't connect well with the theme of their products, nor had it established itself as a known brand identifier. After discussing it with the client, we decided to strike out in a bold new direction with digital art and stock photos that strongly echoed the theme of the site.
The original site Had not been designed for search engine optimization (SEO). It was doing OK in traffic, but most of that was coming from Pay-per-Click (PPC) advertising. We saw that we could more than double the traffic by SEO.
